The Kansas Board of Regents is a group of nine people who help manage and guide higher education in the U.S. state of Kansas. They are in charge of six state universities. Besides these universities, they also oversee and help coordinate nineteen community colleges, five technical colleges, six technical schools, and one municipal university. Think of them as the main helpers for many schools where students go after high school.

How Board Members Are Chosen

The Kansas Board of Regents has nine members. Each of these members is chosen by the Governor of Kansas. These members also work on different committees. These committees help solve problems and make decisions about higher education in the state.

Schools Guided by the Board

The Kansas Board of Regents helps oversee 33 different schools. Most of these are public schools. One of them is a special type of school called a municipal university.

Public Universities

The Board of Regents directly manages these six public universities. These are some of the biggest schools in Kansas where students can earn bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees.
