Karl Morgan, born on February 23, 1961, is a well-known American football coach and a former player. He used to be the head football coach for the Mississippi Valley State University from 2010 to 2013. Later, he coached at Coahoma Community College in Coahoma County, Mississippi from 2014 to 2015.

Karl Morgan's Playing Days
Karl Morgan went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He played as a defensive lineman for the UCLA Bruins football team from 1979 to 1982. A defensive lineman is a player who tries to stop the opposing team from running or passing the ball. In his final year, 1982, he earned special honors in the Pac-10 Conference, which is a group of college sports teams. He was named a Second-team All-American in 1982, meaning he was one of the best college players in the country.
His professional football career began in 1983 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The CFL is a professional football league in Canada. He was even named to the CFL's All-Rookie team in his first year.
The next year, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). The NFL is the biggest professional football league in the United States. He played for the Buccaneers from 1984 to 1986. He also played for the Houston Oilers during the 1986 season. After a break, Morgan returned to play in 1992 for the Arena Football League's (AFL) Cincinnati Rockers. The AFL is a league where football is played indoors on a smaller field.

Coaching High School Football
Morgan started his coaching journey at Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, Louisiana. He was the head football coach there from 1989 to 1992.
Coaching College Football
Karl Morgan then moved on to coach at the college level. He became a defensive line coach at Nicholls State University from 1993 to 1994. A defensive line coach teaches the defensive linemen how to play their positions effectively.
