Karolina Wydra is an actress and model from Poland and America. She was born on March 5, 1981. You might know her from the TV show House, where she played Dominika Petrova. She also played Violet Mazurski, a vampire, in the fantasy series True Blood. Karolina has been in movies like the fantasy thriller After (2012) and the science fiction film Europa Report (2013). Early Life
Karolina Wydra was born in Opole, Poland. She was born with a rare eye condition called coloboma. This means a part of her left eye's iris (the colored part) did not fully close during development.
Her mother was a math teacher, and her father taught art. In 1992, when Karolina was 11, her family moved to Orange County, California, in the United States. There, her parents started a cleaning business. Her parents later separated in 2012. Her mother then moved back to Poland.
Career Highlights
Karolina Wydra started her career in modeling. In October 1997, she won a modeling contest called the Elite Lee Jeans Model Look Contest. After that, she appeared in ads for many famous brands. These included Armani Exchange, Levi's Red, Calvin Klein, and Estée Lauder. She also appeared on the covers of Elle and Oyster magazines.
Acting Roles
In 2006, Karolina starred in a commercial for Nespresso coffee with actor George Clooney. Her acting career began in 2008. She appeared in the comedy-drama film Be Kind Rewind and the sports drama film Sugar.
She then acted in the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love in 2011. From 2011 to 2012, she had a recurring role on the TV show House. She played Dominika Petrova, a character who marries Dr. House to get a green card.
Karolina also starred in the fantasy thriller After in 2012. The next year, she had a main role in the science fiction film Europa Report. In this movie, she played Katya Petrovna.
In 2013, Karolina joined the cast of the HBO fantasy series True Blood. She played Violet Mazurski, a vampire who becomes the girlfriend of Jason Stackhouse. She was a recurring character in season six. For the seventh and final season, she became a main cast member.
