Kate Flannery (born June 10, 1964) is an American actress. She is best known for playing Meredith Palmer on the TV show The Office. This role helped her win two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Kate has also appeared in other popular TV shows. These include Magnum P.I. and Young Sheldon. She also competed on Dancing with the Stars. Kids might also know her voice as Barb from the cartoon series Steven Universe.

Early life and education
Kate Flannery was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in a town nearby called Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Her parents are Joan and Tom Flannery.
Kate has five sisters and one brother. She is three minutes younger than her twin sister, who works as a social worker. Kate studied at Shenandoah Conservatory in Virginia for two years. After that, she went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Acting career
Before becoming famous on TV, Kate Flannery performed in live comedy shows. She was part of The Second City's touring group. She was also an original member of Chicago's Annoyance Theater. There, she performed in many shows, including The Real Live Brady Bunch.
Kate also had a comedy act called The Lampshades with Scot Robinson. They performed in Hollywood and at comedy festivals. This show was very popular and even called "Best Saturday Comedy Show of the Year" by LA Weekly.
The Office and other TV roles
Kate Flannery became widely known for her role as Meredith Palmer on The Office. Meredith was a divorced single mother on the show. Before The Office, Kate appeared on shows like The Bernie Mac Show and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The Office brought Kate and the other actors a lot of praise. They won two Screen Actors Guild Awards for being the best comedy team. They were also nominated five more times for the same award. In 2008, Kate helped find new comedians on Last Comic Standing. She also appeared with her Office co-stars on Celebrity Family Feud.
In 2010, Kate played Harper's mom, Elaine Finkle, on the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place. She also appeared as a judge on Iron Chef America. Since 2013, Kate has been touring with actress Jane Lynch in her show See Jane Sing. They have performed in many cities, including at the Kennedy Center.
Kate also acted in the play Love, Loss, and What I Wore in New York. She played Neely O'Hara in the 1996 play Valley of the Dolls. This play was based on the 1967 movie.
Recent work
Kate Flannery has continued to appear in many TV shows. In 2016, she had a role on ABC's American Housewife. She also played a janitor on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and appeared on New Girl. In 2017, she voiced Barbara "Barb" Miller on Cartoon Network's Steven Universe.
In 2019, Kate joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars for its 28th season. She danced with professional partner Pasha Pashkov. They were the fifth couple to be eliminated from the competition. She also joined the show's live tour in 2020, but it ended early because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, it was announced that Kate would star in a comedy movie called Plan B. She will act alongside Jon Heder and Tom Berenger. In 2024, Kate competed on The Masked Singer as "Starfish". She was eliminated during "Queen Night".
