Kateryna Volodymyrivna Volodko (born Bondarenko on 8 August 1986) is a talented tennis player from Ukraine. She reached impressive rankings during her career, becoming world No. 29 in singles and No. 9 in doubles. A major highlight of her career was winning the doubles title at the 2008 Australian Open. She achieved this amazing win with her sister, Alona Bondarenko.

About Kateryna's Life
Kateryna is the youngest of three sisters. Her older sisters, Valeria Bondarenko and Alona Bondarenko, were also professional tennis players.
Kateryna was born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Her parents introduced her to tennis when she was just four years old. She grew up loving the sport. Her favorite type of tennis court is a hardcourt. In September 2011, Kateryna married Denis Volodko. They welcomed their first child, Karin, in 2013. In 2019, she gave birth to her second child. In 2022, she officially changed her name to Kateryna Volodko.
Kateryna's Tennis Journey
Winning Big in 2008
Kateryna had a fantastic year in 2008. At the 2008 Australian Open, she and her sister Alona won the doubles tournament. This was a huge victory for them!
Later that year, Kateryna played for Ukraine in the Fed Cup, a team tennis competition. She also won her first singles title on the WTA Tour at the Birmingham Classic in the UK. This was a very special moment for her. At the Beijing Olympics, she and Alona reached the doubles semifinals, finishing in fourth place.
Reaching the US Open Quarterfinals in 2009
Kateryna continued to play well in 2009. At the 2009 Australian Open, she surprised many by beating a top-ranked player, Agnieszka Radwańska. Her best Grand Slam singles result came at the US Open, where she reached the quarterfinals. This showed how far she had come in her singles career.
Taking a Break and Coming Back
In 2012, Kateryna decided to take a break from professional tennis because she was pregnant. This meant she retired from the WTA Tour for a while.
