Kaya Adwoa Forson is a talented Ghanaian swimmer. She was born on March 19, 2002. Kaya has made history by being one of the first swimmers from Ghana to compete in the Olympic Games! She is known for swimming in freestyle and backstroke events.

Meet Kaya Forson, the Ghanaian Swimmer
Kaya started competing at a young age. In 2015, when she was just 13 years old, she took part in the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia. She was the youngest person competing at those World Championships! She swam in the 200 metre freestyle and 200 metre backstroke races. Kaya currently lives in Málaga, Spain.
Making History at the Olympics
In 2016, Kaya represented Ghana at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She competed in the 200 metre freestyle event. Kaya and another swimmer, Abeiku Jackson, became the very first Ghanaians to ever compete in swimming at the Olympic Games. This was a huge moment for sports in Ghana!
Training and Education
Kaya goes to school at the Lycée Français International de Malaga in Spain. She also trains hard with the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga swimming club.
