Kaya Adwoa Forson is a talented swimmer from Ghana. She was born on March 19, 2002. Kaya made history by becoming one of the first swimmers from Ghana to compete in the Olympics.
She started competing at a young age. In 2015, when she was just 13, Kaya was the youngest swimmer at the World Championships held in Kazan, Russia. She competed in the 200 metre freestyle and 200 metre backstroke events. Today, Kaya lives in Málaga, Spain.
School and Training
Kaya goes to school at the Lycée Français International de Malaga. She also trains hard with a swimming club called Real Club Mediterráneo. This helps her improve her swimming skills.
Her Olympic Journey
Kaya Forson represented Ghana at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She competed in the 200 metre freestyle event.
She and another swimmer, Abeiku Jackson, were the first people from Ghana to ever swim at the Olympic Games. This was a very special moment for their country.
