Where is Keene Located?
Keene is in the middle of Johnson County. To its west, you'll find Cleburne, which is the main city of the county.
A major road, U.S. Route 67, runs along the southern part of Keene. This road can take you about 7 miles east to Alvarado or 5 miles west to Cleburne.
The city covers about 5 square miles (13 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water. Keene is special because it sits on a natural divide for water. Rainwater on the north and east sides flows into Turkey Creek, which is part of the Trinity River. Water on the south and west sides goes into East Buffalo Creek, which is part of the Brazos River.
