In 2004, Keith Anderson signed a record deal with Arista Nashville. His first song, "Pickin' Wildflowers", came out that year. It was the first song from his first album, Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll. This album had four popular songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. It was also certified gold, meaning it sold a lot of copies!

Keith also co-wrote the song "Lost in This Moment" for the group Big & Rich. This song became a number one hit on the country music charts in 2007. Later that year, Keith switched to the Columbia record label. His second album, C'mon!, was released in August 2008. Keith Anderson's Early Life and Sports

Keith Anderson grew up in Miami, Oklahoma. When he was in middle school and high school, he loved playing sports. He also started his music journey by singing in a band at his church.

After high school, Keith went to Oklahoma State University. There, he studied engineering and played baseball. He was so good at baseball that the Kansas City Royals baseball team even showed interest in him! However, a shoulder injury stopped him from becoming a professional baseball player. After that, Keith tried bodybuilding and even placed second in the Mr. Oklahoma competition.

Keith Anderson's Music Career Journey

After college, Keith first worked at an engineering company in Dallas, Texas. But after about a year and a half, he decided to follow his dream of becoming a musician. He started going to music clubs at night and began writing his own songs. His brother, Brian, also taught him how to play the guitar.

In Dallas, Keith tried out for a show called Grapevine Opry. Many other country stars had started their careers there. He performed on the show for three years. Then, he got to perform at bigger events like the Texas State Fair and Six Flags.

Making Tough Choices for Music

At one point, Keith faced money problems. He had to work extra jobs as a landscaper and a personal trainer. He even thought about going back to school to study physical therapy at the University of Texas.

But just a month before starting, he changed his mind. He decided to focus completely on music. He realized that his education would always be there, but his chance to make music might not be. So, he decided to put all his effort into creating his first music CD.

Breaking Through in Nashville

After recording his CD in Nashville, Keith started sending his music to radio stations. In 2000, he formed his own band. His first big success as a songwriter came in 2001. That's when Garth Brooks and George Jones recorded "Beer Run (B Double E R-U-N)", a song Keith helped write.

In 2002, he opened concerts for the popular group Montgomery Gentry. He performed at many events, which helped him get his record deal with Arista Nashville. Since then, Keith has written songs for other famous singers like Gretchen Wilson. He also wrote Big & Rich's number one hit song, "Lost in This Moment".
