Kellie Noelle Martin, born on October 16, 1975, is a talented American actress. She has played many memorable characters on TV. Some of her most well-known roles include Rebecca "Becca" Thatcher in the show Life Goes On. She also played Lucy Knight on the medical drama ER. Later, she starred as Samantha Kinsey in the Mystery Woman TV movies. More recently, she played Hailey Dean in the Hailey Dean Mysteries series.

Kellie Martin's Early Acting Days

Kellie Martin started acting when she was just seven years old. Her aunt worked as a nanny for actor Michael Landon's children. This connection helped Kellie get her first acting job. She appeared as a guest on the TV series Father Murphy, which Michael Landon produced. When she was 11, she even appeared on the game show Card Sharks during a special week for young people.

Starting Out in Television

Kellie Martin had a regular role on the TV show Valerie's Family: The Hogans from 1987 to 1988. She also lent her voice to the cartoon character Daphne Blake. This was for the animated series A Pup Named Scooby-Doo between 1988 and 1991. In 1989, Kellie began her role as Rebecca "Becca" Thatcher. This was on the family drama Life Goes On, which aired for four seasons. She also played Emily in the 1989 movie Troop Beverly Hills. Kellie even helped host the first episode of America's Funniest Home Videos in 1989.

From 1991 to 1995, Kellie Martin voiced Molly Tasmanian Devil on the cartoon Taz-Mania. In 1993, she appeared as Sherry in the movie Matinee. She also made a guest appearance on the show seaQuest DSV.

In 1994, Kellie starred in her own TV series called Christy. That same year, she also starred in the TV movie A Friend to Die For. In 1995, she was in The Face on the Milk Carton. This TV movie was based on a book about a teenager who discovers she was kidnapped as a baby. Kellie also voiced Roxanne, Max's girlfriend, in A Goofy Movie.

In 1996, Martin starred in two more TV movies, After the Silence and Hidden in Silence. From 1998 to 2000, Kellie joined the cast of the popular medical drama ER. She played a medical student named Lucy Knight. Kellie was studying at Yale University at the time. She paused her studies to join ER. After leaving the show, she took a three-year break from acting. She returned to Yale to finish her degree in art history.

Kellie Martin's Work in the 2000s and Beyond

In 2003, Kellie Martin starred in Mystery Woman, a Hallmark Channel movie. She played the owner of a mystery bookshop who solves real crimes. From 2005 to 2007, she made ten more Mystery Woman films for Hallmark. She even directed two of them! Also in 2003, Kellie had a supporting role in the comedy movie Malibu's Most Wanted.

In 2006, she starred in the TV movie Live Once, Die Twice. This was followed by No Brother of Mine in 2007. Also in 2007, Kellie voiced an older version of Barbara Gordon on an episode of The Batman.

In 2009, Martin made guest appearances on several popular TV shows. These included Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer, and Private Practice.

In 2012, she played Army Captain Nicole Galassini on the TV series Army Wives.

In 2016, Kellie Martin began starring in a new show for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. It's called Hailey Dean Mystery. She plays Hailey Dean, a former prosecutor who becomes a therapist and solves mysteries. These movies are based on books by Nancy Grace.

In 2017, she played police officer Kimberly Leahy in seven episodes of the comedy series The Guest Book.

Kellie Martin's Personal Life

Kellie Martin graduated from Yale University in 2001. She earned a degree in art history. She was part of the Saybrook Fellowship during her time there. On May 15, 1999, she married Keith Christian in his hometown of Polson, Montana. They have two daughters together.

Kellie Martin also owns and runs her own toy store. She has written a novel called Madam: A Novel of New Orleans.
