Kendis Gibson is a well-known American journalist. He was born in Belize City on September 6, 1972. Kendis Gibson has won two Emmy Awards for his excellent news and sports reporting. He has worked as a news anchor and reporter for many big news channels. These include CNN, CBS News, ABC News, and MSNBC. He also hosted popular morning news shows like World News Now and America This Morning.

Early Life and School
Kendis Gibson was born in Belize City, Belize. He was the youngest of seven brothers. His father, Alrick Gibson, was a cabinetmaker. His mother's name was Hortense Gibson. When Kendis was 12, his family moved to New York City in the 1980s.
He went to John Jay High School in Brooklyn, New York City. Later, he studied at the State University of New York at Oswego. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
Journalism Career
Kendis Gibson started his career in Rochester, New York. He worked there for three years as a reporter. After that, he moved to Philadelphia and worked at WTXF. He was a morning anchor and reporter there. During this time, he won two Emmy Awards. These awards were for "outstanding news reporting" and "sports feature."
He then returned to New York City to work for WNBC NewsChannel. He reported on major events like the 2000 Concorde plane crash. He was also one of the first reporters at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. His home was very close to the site.
Working at CNN and Other Channels
In 2002, Kendis Gibson joined CNN and CNN Headline News. He became an entertainment anchor and sometimes a news anchor. He covered many red carpet events, such as the Academy Awards and the Grammy Awards.
Gibson also hosted HGTV's I Want That!. He was an evening news anchor for KSWB-TV in San Diego, California. In 2010, he joined CBS News in Los Angeles. He worked as a correspondent for the West Coast. He also reported on entertainment news for CBS.
Moving to ABC News and MSNBC
In 2011, Gibson moved to Washington, D.C.. He joined WJLA-TV, an ABC channel. In 2013, he became a correspondent for ABC News. He also co-anchored World News Now and America This Morning.
In 2019, he moved to NBC News. He became a weekend anchor on MSNBC Live. In 2022, Gibson joined CBS Miami as a morning news co-anchor. He also helped launch CBS News Miami's streaming service.
Recent Work
In February 2024, Kendis Gibson was hired by WPIX in New York. He is now a co-anchor for their 4 PM and 5 PM evening newscasts. He works alongside Arrianee LeBeau.
