Kenny Hutchinson (born December 13, 1963) is an American former basketball player. He grew up playing basketball in New York City. He became a top player during his high school years.
High School Basketball Star
Kenny Hutchinson played basketball at two high schools. These were Benjamin Franklin High School and Martin Luther King Jr. High School. At Franklin, he was part of a strong team. This team included other talented players like Richie Adams, Gary Springer, and Walter Berry.
In 1982, Hutchinson helped his team win a state championship. Benjamin Franklin High School closed that same year. Kenny then moved to Martin Luther King Jr. High School for his final year. In 1983, he was recognized as a second-team Parade All-American. This is a big honor for high school athletes.
During his high school days, Kenny also loved playing streetball. He often played at Rucker Park. He even took part in the Entertainer's Basketball Classic, a famous streetball tournament.
College Career at Arkansas
After high school, Kenny Hutchinson chose to attend the University of Arkansas. He joined the Razorbacks basketball team. He first joined the team in 1984.
Kenny was naturally a point guard. However, he played as a shooting guard for the Arkansas team. He played for three seasons with the Razorbacks. He averaged 2.6 points per game during his time there. He left the team in 1987.
Life After Basketball
After his college basketball career, Kenny Hutchinson focused on his future. He later attended the City College of New York in 1994. He worked to complete his college degree. His goal was to become a teacher.
