Kent Street Senior High School is a public high school in East Victoria Park, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It's a school for both boys and girls, offering day classes and also boarding for students who live far away.
More than half of the students at Kent Street Senior High School come from other areas. This is because the school offers special programs. These include aeronautics (learning about planes), cricket, fashion & design, and the Centre of Resources Excellence (CoRE).

School History
People wanted a high school south of the Swan River for many years. However, there wasn't enough money, especially during the 1930s. In 1932, a survey showed that many students in the South Perth and Victoria Park areas needed a high school.
Building work started in 1939. The school first opened its doors in 1940 as Kent Street Central School. It had 354 students when it began. The school's buildings are now listed on the Western Australia Heritage Register. They are known for their special "Inter-war Free Classical" style.
The school's cricket teams have done very well in national competitions. They won the Australian 5 Highs Cricket carnival in Brisbane in 1994. They also won in Melbourne in 2000 and 2005. Kent Street Senior High School even hosted the carnival in 1996, 2001, and 2006.
School Campus
The school is located on a 10-acre campus on Kent Street. Because the campus is on a sloping hill, it is divided into three levels. The school has special areas for different age groups. There is a "Canteen Quad" for younger students. Older students have their own "Upper School Quad".
Aviation Program
Kent Street Senior High School started offering an aviation course in 1979 for Year 11 students. The first class had 27 students who learned about planes and flying. By 1988, younger students could also join the aviation program.
In 1994, the school received a generous donation of an aircraft hangar. This helped with the equipment needed for the course. By 2000, the school teamed up with Edith Cowan University. This partnership helped promote aviation education across Western Australia. The aviation course became a course that helps students get into university.
In 2008, the school partnered with Skywest Airlines. This airline is now part of Virgin Australia. This partnership lets aviation students get real-world experience. They can work with engineers to maintain aircraft like the Fokker 50 and Fokker 100 jets. Older aviation students can also fly with Virgin Australia pilots. They learn how to check aircraft weight, understand weather data, and use navigation tools.
Rotary Residential College
The Rotary Residential College is located on land leased from Kent Street Senior High School. This college was created because many country students needed a place to stay. They wanted to attend special courses only offered at city high schools.
With help from different levels of government and other groups, the college opened in 1991. For over 29 years, about 450 students have lived there. These students have come from nearly 100 different country towns.
