Keoma is a small community, called a hamlet, located in southern Alberta, Canada. It's part of the area managed by Rocky View County. This means it's a small settlement that doesn't have its own local government, but is looked after by the larger county.
You can find Keoma about 35 kilometers (21 miles) northeast of Calgary. It's situated on Highway 566, not far from Highway 9 and the Trans-Canada Highway.
The name Keoma comes from an Indigenous word meaning "over there" or "far away." The hamlet was first settled in 1910. This happened when the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) opened up land for farming that could be watered using irrigation. It's believed that the CPR named the site, but this isn't completely certain. Keoma had its own post office for many years, from January 15, 1910, until June 27, 1986.
