Kerstin Cook was born on April 15, 1989. She is a model from Switzerland and Great Britain. Kerstin became well-known when she won the title of Miss Switzerland 2010. After that, she represented her country in the Miss Universe 2011 contest.
Early Life and Interests
Kerstin Cook's parents, Karen and Derek, are from England. She also has two older brothers, Richard and James. Kerstin started working as a model when she was 14 years old.
She studied environmental science in college. This means she learned about how the Earth works and how to protect it. Kerstin also works for a Swiss group called STS. This organization helps animals.
Kerstin was a very active person when she was younger. She enjoyed many sports, including track and field and inline skating.
Becoming Miss Switzerland
Kerstin Cook is about 1.80 meters (5 feet 11 inches) tall. She was one of 12 young women who competed in the Miss Switzerland beauty pageant. This big event took place in Zürich, Switzerland.
During the competition, Kerstin won a special award called Photogenic. This means she looked great in photos! Then, she was crowned Miss Schweiz, which is the same as Miss Switzerland. Winning this title gave her the chance to represent her country.
She went on to compete in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant. This international contest was broadcast live from São Paulo, Brazil. It happened on September 12, 2011.
Before the Miss Switzerland finals, Kerstin received some difficult family news. Her grandmother in Cambridge was going through a challenging time with her health. Kerstin could not travel to England to be with her. Because of this, Kerstin dedicated her participation in the Miss Switzerland contest to her grandmother.
