Kevin Burkhardt was born on March 2, 1974. He is an American sportscaster, which means he reports on sports. Kevin is currently the main announcer for NFL on Fox football games. He is also the main host for Fox Major League Baseball shows.
Before joining Fox, Kevin worked as a reporter for SportsNet New York (SNY). He covered New York Mets baseball games from 2007 to 2014. He also hosted the "Reunion" episodes of the reality TV show Alone on the History Channel.

Kevin Burkhardt's Early Life
Kevin Burkhardt was born and grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey. He was born on March 2, 1974. As a kid, he was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles football team. He chose them because his favorite stuffed animal mascot was an Eagles one. His favorite player was Ron Jaworski.
In middle school, Kevin would pretend to announce Nintendo games. He looked up to Gary Cohen, who later became his broadcast partner. Kevin finished Bloomfield High School in 1992. He then went to William Paterson University, graduating in 1997 with a degree in broadcasting.
Kevin Burkhardt's Career Journey
Kevin started his career at a radio station called WGHT in New Jersey. He worked there for eight years, covering local events like high school football games.
He also announced minor league baseball games for the New Jersey Jackals on WJUX radio. At one point, Kevin even worked as a car salesman. This was because he found it hard to get a better broadcasting job.
Later, Kevin got a part-time job at WFAN radio. He did freelance work and eventually became the full-time reporter for the New York Jets football team. During this time, he also reported on sports for other channels like CN8 and Time Warner Cable. He also did sports reports for WCBS 880 radio.
Working at SportsNet New York
Kevin joined the Mets broadcast team in 2007. He replaced another reporter, Chris Cotter. Kevin didn't think he would get the job at SNY, but he did! On SNY, he appeared on shows like Mets Hot Stove and Mets Pre-Game Live. He left SNY at the end of the 2014 season to work full-time for Fox.
Announcing Football Games
Even while working with the Mets, Kevin really wanted to announce football games. He got a chance to do this with the Compass Radio Network. He announced the 2009 Texas Bowl and other college football games.
From 2011 to 2013, Kevin was also the main announcer for Dallas Cowboys games on Compass Radio Networks. His co-announcer was former player Danny White. Kevin left this role when he joined NFL on Fox.
Kevin Burkhardt at Fox Sports
In 2013, Kevin started announcing games for NFL on Fox. He worked with John Lynch and Erin Andrews. This team also announced a big playoff game in 2014 between the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks.
Kevin also filled in as an announcer for Major League Baseball on Fox in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, he became the main pre-game host for MLB coverage on Fox and Fox Sports 1. He also joined the Fox College Hoops team to announce college basketball.
In 2022, Kevin became the lead announcer for NFL on Fox. This happened after Joe Buck, another famous announcer, left Fox. Kevin works with Greg Olsen, who is a former football player. Kevin was the television announcer for Super Bowl LVII in 2023. He was the first announcer other than Jim Nantz, Joe Buck, or Al Michaels to call a Super Bowl since 2004.
