Kevin Devon Knox II (born August 11, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League. Before turning pro, Kevin played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. The New York Knicks chose him as the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

Early Life and High School Basketball

Kevin Knox II grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He went to Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida. During his junior year, he was amazing on the court. He scored about 30 points and grabbed over 11 rebounds per game. He helped his team win regional and district championships. They almost made it to the state finals.

In the summer of 2016, Kevin played for his AAU team, E1T1 United. He showed off his skills on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Circuit. He averaged nearly 20 points and 8 rebounds per game. As a senior, he continued to shine, averaging 28.5 points and 11.3 rebounds. He led Tampa Catholic to a great 25–6 record. His talent earned him spots in major high school games. These included the McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic.

Becoming a Top Recruit

Kevin Knox II was considered one of the best young basketball players in the 2017 class. Many top colleges wanted him to play for them. On May 6, 2017, he decided to commit to the University of Kentucky. He chose Kentucky over other famous basketball programs. These included Duke, Florida State, and North Carolina.

College Basketball Journey

In his first year at Kentucky, Kevin Knox was a key player. He led the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. He helped the Wildcats finish fourth in their conference, the SEC. His great play earned him spots on the All-Rookie and First Team All-SEC teams.

The team played very well in the SEC tournament. They won the championship, with Kevin scoring 18 points in the final game. This win gave them a good spot in the NCAA tournament. However, they lost to Kansas State in a tough game. Kevin scored 13 points and had 8 rebounds in that game.

After his freshman year, Kevin decided to go pro. On April 6, 2018, he announced he would enter the 2018 NBA draft. He gave up his remaining college years to pursue his dream.
