Kevin Devon Knox II (born August 11, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the NBA G League. Before turning pro, Kevin played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats. The New York Knicks chose him as the ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Kevin Knox II grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He went to Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida. During his junior year, he was amazing on the court. He scored about 30 points and grabbed over 11 rebounds per game. He helped his team win regional and district championships. They almost made it to the state finals.
In the summer of 2016, Kevin played for his AAU team, E1T1 United. He showed off his skills on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) Circuit. He averaged nearly 20 points and 8 rebounds per game. As a senior, he continued to shine, averaging 28.5 points and 11.3 rebounds. He led Tampa Catholic to a great 25–6 record. His talent earned him spots in major high school games. These included the McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic.
Becoming a Top Recruit
Kevin Knox II was considered one of the best young basketball players in the 2017 class. Many top colleges wanted him to play for them. On May 6, 2017, he decided to commit to the University of Kentucky. He chose Kentucky over other famous basketball programs. These included Duke, Florida State, and North Carolina.
College Basketball Journey
In his first year at Kentucky, Kevin Knox was a key player. He led the team in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. He helped the Wildcats finish fourth in their conference, the SEC. His great play earned him spots on the All-Rookie and First Team All-SEC teams.
The team played very well in the SEC tournament. They won the championship, with Kevin scoring 18 points in the final game. This win gave them a good spot in the NCAA tournament. However, they lost to Kansas State in a tough game. Kevin scored 13 points and had 8 rebounds in that game.
After his freshman year, Kevin decided to go pro. On April 6, 2018, he announced he would enter the 2018 NBA draft. He gave up his remaining college years to pursue his dream.
Starting His NBA Career
The New York Knicks picked Kevin Knox as the ninth player in the 2018 NBA draft. This was a huge moment for him. On July 5, 2018, he officially signed with the Knicks.
He made his NBA debut on October 17, 2018. He scored 10 points in a win against the Atlanta Hawks. Just two days later, he scored a team-high 17 points against the Brooklyn Nets. Soon after, he sprained his ankle, but he came back strong. On December 1, he scored a career-high 26 points. This helped the Knicks win an exciting overtime game.
In January 2019, Kevin was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month. This was for his excellent performance in December 2018. On January 13, 2019, he set a new career high. He scored 31 points in a close game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
His second season saw his playing time and scoring drop a bit. He averaged 6.4 points in about 18 minutes per game. The Knicks still believed in him. They picked up his fourth-year option on December 21, 2020. In January 2021, he scored a season-high 19 points. The Knicks had a good season in 2020–21. They made the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Kevin made his playoff debut in May 2021. The Knicks lost their series in five games.
Playing for Different Teams
On January 13, 2022, Kevin was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. He made his debut for the Hawks on January 19. The Hawks also made the playoffs that year. Kevin played well in the playoffs, scoring a playoff career-high 10 points. He then topped that with 12 points in another game. The Hawks lost their playoff series in five games.
On August 1, 2022, Kevin signed with the Detroit Pistons. He scored 21 points in a win against the Utah Jazz in November. This included a career-high six three-pointers.
In February 2023, Kevin was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. He had a fantastic game on April 8, 2023. He scored a season-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He re-signed with the Trail Blazers briefly but was later waived.
He then joined the Rip City Remix, a G League team. On November 8, 2023, he returned to the Detroit Pistons. He scored 19 points in a game against the Houston Rockets in January 2024. He was traded again to the Utah Jazz in February 2024 but was waived the next day.
Kevin rejoined the Rip City Remix in March 2024. After playing in the NBA Summer League, he signed with the Golden State Warriors in September 2024. He was later waived and joined the Santa Cruz Warriors in October 2024.
Representing Team USA
Kevin Knox has proudly represented the United States in international basketball. He won two gold medals with USA Basketball. The first was at the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship. The second was at the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship. These wins show his talent on the world stage.

Off the Court
Kevin Knox II comes from a family of athletes. His father, also named Kevin Knox, was a professional football player in the NFL. Kevin has two younger brothers who also play basketball. Kobe plays college basketball for South Florida. His youngest brother, Karter, is also a highly-rated young player. In September 2018, Kevin signed a deal with the sports brand Puma.
