He is famous for playing Marcus Williams in the TV show Guiding Light. This role won him two Daytime Emmys, which are special awards for TV shows. He also played Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in the Broadway musical Fela!.

Growing Up and Learning
Kevin Mambo was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Kevin loved music from a young age. He sang in the church choir. He started playing piano when he was 8, saxophone at 10, and guitar at 19.
He went to high school at Aden Bowman Collegiate in Saskatoon. Later, he attended Brentwood College School in Mill Bay, British Columbia. Kevin studied Political Science and African History at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He also took music classes there. Then, he moved to the University of Southern California. He earned his degree in Fine Arts from that university.

On Stage
In 2015, Kevin Mambo acted in a play called Brothers from the Bottom. In 2014, he starred in the musical The Fortress of Solitude. This musical was based on a book by Jonathan Lethem.
Mambo also performed in The Book of Mormon from 2012 to 2013. He played the role of Mafala. He was also in the play The Convert in 2011–2012.
One of his most famous roles was playing Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in the Broadway musical Fela!. He also appeared in Ruined, a play that won a special award called the Pulitzer Prize.
