Khayyam Hadi oglu Mirzazade (Azerbaijani: Xəyyam Hadı oğlu Mirzəzadə; 5 October 1935 – 30 July 2018) was a well-known Azerbaijani composer and a professor. He created many different types of music during his life.
About Khayyam Mirzazade
Khayyam Mirzazade was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on October 5, 1935. He loved music from a young age. He studied at the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. He finished his studies there in 1957.
After graduating, he started teaching at the same conservatoire. He taught many students about music composition. From 1969 to 1983, he was even in charge of the composition department.
Khayyam Mirzazade wrote many different kinds of music. He composed pieces for large orchestras and smaller groups. He also created music for plays and movies. Many of his songs were very popular.
He was recognized for his amazing work. On October 7, 2000, the President of Azerbaijan gave him the Shohrat Order. This is a very important award in Azerbaijan.
