Khiry Lamar Shelton (born June 26, 1993) is an American professional soccer player. He plays as a forward or winger for the Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City. Khiry has also played for the United States national teams at the under-18 and under-23 levels.

Playing for Clubs
Early Soccer Days
Khiry Shelton was born in Fort Carson, Colorado. He grew up in Leander, Texas. He went to Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas. There, he played soccer for four years. He was chosen as the best offensive player in 2010. He also made the All-District team.
Khiry joined a youth soccer club called Lonestar SC. He played for their under-17/18 team. In 2010, his team won the Disney Showcase Championship.
College Soccer Career
After high school, Khiry went to Oregon State University. He quickly joined their soccer team. He started the first six games in his first year. However, an injury kept him from playing the rest of the season.
In his second year, he played in fifteen games. He scored in his first three games. He ended the season as one of the top scorers for his team. In his third year, he played ten games and scored four goals.
Joining New York City FC
On January 15, 2015, Khiry Shelton was picked second overall in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. This is like a draft in other sports where professional teams choose new players. New York City FC chose him. Their coach, Jason Kreis, said Khiry was their "top guy."
Khiry played his first game for New York City FC in their very first Major League Soccer match. It was against another new team, Orlando City SC. He came into the game as a substitute in the 62nd minute. The game ended in a 1–1 tie.
In his first season, Khiry played 17 games. He scored his first goal on May 15 at Yankee Stadium. He came into the game and scored a goal in extra time. This helped his team tie the game 2–2 against the Chicago Fire.
Moving to Sporting Kansas City
On December 14, 2017, Khiry Shelton was traded to Sporting Kansas City. A trade means one team gives a player to another team.
Playing in Germany
On January 5, 2019, Khiry signed a contract with SC Paderborn 07. This is a soccer club in Germany. He played in the 2. Bundesliga, which is a professional soccer league in Germany.
Returning to Sporting Kansas City
On December 9, 2019, Khiry Shelton returned to Sporting Kansas City. He signed a new contract to play for them again. He has been playing for them since 2020.
Playing for His Country
Youth National Teams
Khiry Shelton was called to play for the United States under-18 team in 2010. He went to a training camp in California. Then, he traveled to Israel to play in a tournament. He played in three games against teams from Israel, France, and Germany.
About five years later, in March 2015, Khiry was asked to play for the United States under-23 team. He played in games against teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Denmark. He came into one game as a substitute and played the full match in another.
Senior National Team Call-Up
In January 2016, Khiry Shelton was called up to the main United States squad. This was for friendly games against teams from Iceland and Canada.
