Kibi Province facts for kids
Kibi Province (Kibi-no-kuni (吉備国)) was a very old area in Japan. It was located in the part of Japan that is now Okayama Prefecture and the eastern part of Hiroshima Prefecture on the big island of Honshū. Sometimes, people called it Bishū (備州).
History
Kibi Province was a large and important area for a long time. But in the late 600s, around the end of the 7th century, it was divided into three smaller provinces. These new provinces were called Bizen, Bitchū, and Bingo. This division helped the government manage the land and people more easily.
