Kimball is found in the southwestern part of the Nebraska Panhandle. The city covers an area of about 2.07 square miles (5.36 square kilometers), and all of it is land.
Kimball is known as "The High Point of Nebraska!" This is because the highest spot in the state, called Panorama Point, is only about 33 miles (53 km) away. Panorama Point is 5,424 feet (1,653 meters) above sea level. It's marked by a small monument. Even though Kimball is close to the highest point, it's not the highest town in Nebraska.
