Kimberly is a village located in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2020, about 7,320 people lived there. The village is found just east of Appleton and is part of the larger Appleton metropolitan area.

History of Kimberly
Kimberly was first known by a different name: The Cedars. This name came from a peace agreement called the Treaty of the Cedars. Later, it was called Smithfield for a short time.
In 1889, the village got its current name, Kimberly. It was named after John A. Kimberly, who helped start the famous Kimberly-Clark Corporation. This company opened a paper mill in the community, which was a big deal for the area.

Important Places and Businesses
The Kimberly Mill
The Kimberly Mill was a very important paper factory located on the Fox River. It was built in 1889 by the Kimberly-Clark Corporation. At first, it made paper for newspapers. Later, it started making special coated paper.
Over the years, the mill was sold to different companies. In 2008, the company that owned it at the time, NewPage, decided to close the mill. This was a big change for Kimberly.
After the mill closed, the property was sold again. There were plans to develop the area into a new community called The Cedars, which was the village's original name. In 2017, the village took over the project to continue developing the land.
Historic Homes
The William and Susanna Geenen House is a special building in Kimberly. It was designed by an architect named Henry Wildhagen and built in 1921. Because of its history and design, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
Education in Kimberly
Students in Kimberly attend schools that are part of the Kimberly Area School District. This school district also serves students from nearby towns like Combined Locks and parts of Buchanan and Harrison (Darboy).
Getting Around Kimberly
The Tri-County Expressway (Wisconsin Highway 441) runs along the west side of Kimberly. It also forms the border between Kimberly and Appleton. For public transportation, there is bus service provided by Valley Transit. If you need to fly, Appleton International Airport is nearby and serves Kimberly.
