King is a small town located in Lincoln County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2010, the town had a population of 855 people. It is a quiet place known for its natural beauty, including parts of the Wisconsin River.

Exploring King's Location
King is found in the northern part of Lincoln County. To its north is Oneida County. The town is about 9 miles (14 km) northeast of the city of Tomahawk.
Roads and Travel
Two important roads, U.S. Route 51 and U.S. Route 8, meet in the northwest corner of King.
- U.S. Route 51 goes north for 26 miles (42 km) to Woodruff. It also goes south the same distance to Merrill. Merrill is the main city of Lincoln County.
- U.S. Route 8 heads northeast for 15 miles (24 km) to Rhinelander. It also goes west for 31 miles (50 km) to Prentice.
Land and Water
The town of King covers a total area of about 36.8 square miles (95.4 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 33.4 square miles (86.5 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 3.4 square miles (8.9 square kilometers), is water. This means about 9.32% of the town is covered by water.
The Wisconsin River flows through King from the northeast to the southwest. In the southwestern part of the town, the river is held back by Kings Dam. This dam creates a beautiful body of water called Lake Alice.
People of King
In 2000, there were 842 people living in King. These people lived in 362 households, and 270 of these were families. The population density was about 24.9 people per square mile. Most of the people living in King were White (98.81%).
