Kirby & the Amazing Mirror is an exciting video game that came out in 2004. It was made for the Game Boy Advance system. This game is part of the popular Kirby series, which stars a cute pink hero named Kirby. It was the last Kirby game released for the Game Boy Advance.

What makes this game special is that you can play as four different Kirbys at the same time! You and your friends can team up to explore a magical world made of mirrors. It's also the only Kirby game where Kirby's usual enemy, King Dedede, does not appear. The game was later re-released for Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

The Story of the Amazing Mirror

The game begins in the Mirror World, a place connected to Dream Land through the Dimension Mirror. This mirror can show you any world you wish to see. One day, Meta Knight flies into the Mirror World. Suddenly, a shadowy version of Meta Knight, called Dark Meta Knight, appears and attacks him. Dark Meta Knight slices the Dimension Mirror into eight pieces.

Kirby sees this happen and tries to help. But Dark Meta Knight also slices Kirby into four different colored copies! Now, the four Kirbys must work together. They need to find all eight pieces of the Dimension Mirror. Their goal is to put the mirror back together and save the Mirror World from the shadowy threat.

How to Play: Explore and Team Up

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror is a unique game because it lets you play with multiple Kirbys. You can play alone, controlling one Kirby while the computer controls the others. Or, up to four players can join in using a Game Boy Advance Link Cable. This makes it a great game for playing with friends!

The game world is like a big maze. It has many different areas connected by doors and pathways. You can explore freely, going back and forth between areas. There are no levels in a straight line. Instead, you'll find warp stars that can take you quickly between different parts of the map. This open world style is a bit like a "Metroidvania" game, where you unlock new areas as you gain new abilities.

Copy Abilities and Power-Ups

Just like in other Kirby games, Kirby can inhale enemies and copy their special powers. There are many different copy abilities to find, like Sword, Fire, Beam, and more. Each ability gives Kirby a unique way to attack or solve puzzles. For example, the Cutter ability lets you throw a boomerang, and the Stone ability turns Kirby into a heavy rock.

You'll need to use these abilities to defeat enemies and overcome obstacles. Sometimes, you'll need a specific ability to open a path or find a hidden secret. The game encourages you to experiment with different powers.

Using Your Cell Phone

In the game, the Kirbys have a special cell phone. This phone is very useful for teamwork. If you get lost or need help, you can call the other Kirbys. They will come to your location to help you out. This feature is especially helpful when playing with friends, as you can easily regroup. You can also use the phone to share health items or abilities with your teammates.

Game Release and Platforms

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror first came out in Japan on April 15, 2004. It then released in Europe, North America, and Australia later that year. It was made for the Game Boy Advance, which was a popular handheld console at the time.

Years later, the game was re-released for newer Nintendo systems. It became available on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011. Then, in 2014, it was released again on the Virtual Console for the Wii U. This means more players could enjoy this classic Kirby adventure on different consoles.
