Klaus Graf's Racing Journey

Klaus Graf was born in Dornhan, Germany. He has won many races and championships in different types of road racing.
Early Career and NASCAR
In 2004, Klaus raced part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for a team called BAM Racing. He finished 17th in one race at Sonoma Raceway. He tried to race in two other events that year but didn't qualify. In 2007, he tried to qualify for eight more races with the same team but didn't make it into any of them.
Trans-Am Series Champion
In 2005, Klaus Graf won the championship in the Trans-Am Series. This was a big achievement because he was the first Trans-Am champion born outside the United States since David Hobbs won in 1983.
Success in American Le Mans Series
Klaus raced for Muscle Milk Pickett Racing in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). This series features sports cars racing on road courses.
In the 2010 season, he had some great results. He won the LMP2 class at the famous 12 Hours of Sebring race. He shared this win with his team owner, Greg Pickett, and another driver, Sascha Maassen. He also won two overall races (meaning he was the first car to finish, regardless of class) in the LMP class. These wins were at the Northeast Grand Prix (with Pickett) and the Grand Prix of Mosport (with Romain Dumas).
In 2011, Klaus continued his winning streak. He won races at Long Beach, Mosport, Mid-Ohio, and Road America. He was driving a Lola-Aston Martin car for his team.
For the 2012 season, Klaus Graf teamed up with Lucas Luhr. They drove a new car called the HPD ARX-03a for the entire ALMS season. Together, Graf and Luhr won the ALMS LMP1 driver's championships in both 2012 and 2013.
Le Mans Race Results
Klaus Graf has also competed in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France. This is a very long endurance race that lasts for 24 hours.
