The Kleve Rural District, also known as Kreis Kleve, is a special area in northwestern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It's like a county or a region that has its own local government. This district is known for its beautiful landscapes and rich history.
The Kleve Rural District was created in 1975. This happened when two older districts, Kleve and Geldern, joined together. Some towns from other areas, like Emmerich and Rees from Rees District, and Rheurdt from Moers District, also became part of it. This made the district bigger and stronger.

Understanding the Kleve Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for the Kleve Rural District was officially approved in 1983. It's a cool design that brings together symbols from two old duchies. A duchy was a territory ruled by a duke or duchess.
On the right side of the shield (which is your left when you look at it), you'll see the emblem of the dukes of Cleves. It has a white shield shape on a red background. This white shape has an eight-pointed design called an escarbuncle, which looks a bit like a fancy flower.
On the left side of the shield (your right), there's a golden lion on a blue background. This was the special symbol of the dukes of Geldern. So, the coat of arms tells a story about the history of these two important regions joining together.
