Ko Jeong-woon was born on June 27, 1966. He is a famous South Korean football manager and a former player. He was known as a very strong forward for South Korea.

In the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Ko Jeong-woon was a key player. His amazing dribbling skills made it hard for teams like Spain and Germany to defend against him. He even caused a player from Spain, Miguel Ángel Nadal, to be sent off the field!

That same year, he played his best in the K League, which is South Korea's top football league. His team won the championship, and he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). A big European team, Bayer Leverkusen, was interested in him. He even went to Germany to talk with them. However, his team's director did not let him go, which made him very sad.

Today, Ko Jeong-woon is the manager of Gimpo FC.

Playing for Clubs

Ko Jeong-woon played for several football clubs during his career. He spent many years with Cheonan Ilhwa Chunma. With this team, he helped them win the K League 1 championship three times in a row, from 1993 to 1995! They also won the Korean League Cup in 1992.

He also played for Cerezo Osaka in Japan and later for Pohang Steelers in South Korea. He was a forward, which means his main job was to score goals.

Playing for South Korea

Ko Jeong-woon also played for the South Korea national team. He represented his country in many important matches. He played in the 1994 FIFA World Cup, which is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world.

He helped South Korea win a bronze medal at the 1990 Asian Games. This was a great achievement for him and his country. He scored 10 goals in 77 games for the national team.
