Meet the Kratt Brothers
Martin Kratt was born on December 23, 1965. His younger brother, Chris Kratt, was born on July 19, 1969. They grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey. Their dad, William Kratt, made musical instruments.
The brothers both went to Watchung Hills Regional High School. Later, they were honored by their school in 2013. Martin studied zoology at Duke University. Chris studied biology at Carleton College. These studies helped them learn a lot about animals and nature.
Their Amazing TV Shows
The Kratt brothers have made many popular TV shows that teach kids about animals.
- Kratts' Creatures: This was one of their first shows. It introduced viewers to different animals and their habitats.
- Zoboomafoo: This show aired from 1999 to 2001 on PBS Kids. Martin and Chris went on adventures with a playful lemur named Zoboomafoo. They explored the animal world together.
- Be the Creature: This series was shown on the National Geographic Channel and CBC. It allowed viewers to see what it's like to be different animals.

A Mantis Named After Them
In 2017, something very cool happened! A scientist named Dr. Gavin Svenson discovered a new species of mantis. He named it Liturgusa krattorum after Martin and Chris Kratt. This was to honor their great work in educational television. A special Wild Kratts episode was even made to celebrate this new mantis!

Since 2008, the Kratt brothers have lived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is where they film and produce their popular TV series, Wild Kratts.
