Kyle Wilson (born May 30, 1987) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). Kyle played college football for Boise State University. The New York Jets picked him in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft. He played with the Jets for five seasons. After that, he joined the New Orleans Saints for two seasons, starting in 2015.

Early Life and High School Football
Kyle Wilson grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey. He went to Piscataway High School and finished in 2005. He was a big part of his high school football team. They won three state championships in a row! Two of those seasons, 2002 and 2004, they didn't lose any games. Overall, their record was 33 wins and only 3 losses.
Kyle was named the best wide receiver in the state. He also earned many other awards for his skills. Besides football, Kyle was also good at track & field. He ran the 100-meter dash very fast, in just 10.8 seconds.
Even though he was a great athlete, not many colleges offered him scholarships. He chose to play for Boise State. He picked them over Rutgers and Delaware.
College Football Career at Boise State
Kyle started his college career in 2005. He spent that year as a "redshirt" player. This means he practiced with the team but didn't play in games. This allowed him to train and get stronger.
Freshman Year (2006)
In 2006, Kyle played in 10 games. He made 41 tackles and helped break up five passes. He also forced one fumble and recovered another. He even got an interception. Kyle started the last five games as a cornerback. He played very well in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. Boise State won that game against Oklahoma in a big upset. Kyle was recognized as an honorable mention Freshman All-American.
Sophomore Year (2007)
As a sophomore, Kyle started all 13 games. He had 41 tackles and broke up eight passes. He also made two interceptions and had one sack. He even blocked a kick! His best game was against East Carolina. Kyle earned second-team All-WAC honors for his performance.
Junior Year (2008)
In his junior year, Kyle was a leader for Boise State. He had five interceptions and broke up 10 passes. He also returned 33 punts for 470 yards. Three of those punt returns were for touchdowns! He started every game, continuing a streak of 31 starts. He was named first-team All-WAC as a cornerback. He also earned second-team all-conference as a punt returner.
Senior Year (2009)
Before his senior season, experts thought Kyle was one of the best cornerbacks. He was named a midseason All-American. He was also a semifinalist for the 2009 Jim Thorpe Award. This award goes to the best defensive back in college football.
Professional Football Career
Before the 2010 NFL draft, many people thought Kyle Wilson was one of the top cornerbacks available. He was compared to another great player, Dré Bly.

New York Jets (2010–2014)
The New York Jets picked Kyle Wilson in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was the 29th player chosen overall. At the Jets' training camp, coaches were very impressed with him. They thought he was a great pick for the team.
In July 2010, Kyle signed a five-year contract with the Jets. He played as the third-string cornerback. His first professional interception happened on October 23, 2011. He caught a pass from Philip Rivers in a game against the Chargers. This play was important, and the Jets won the game 27–21.
New Orleans Saints (2015–2016)
On April 1, 2015, the New Orleans Saints signed Kyle Wilson to a one-year contract. He signed another one-year contract with the Saints on March 7, 2016. Later that year, on June 24, 2016, the Saints placed him on the Reserved/Injured list. This meant he could not play due to an injury.
