University of Delaware facts for kids
The University of Delaware is a university in Newark, Delaware. It is partly a private university and partly a public university. It was founded in 1743, and three of its first students went on to sign the Declaration of Independence. Later famous graduates include Joe Biden, the former Vice President of the United States. The mascot is the Blue Hens, which are also the state bird of Delaware. The school colors at the moment are blue and yellow.
