La Monte is a small city located in Pettis County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,014 people lived there.

History of La Monte
La Monte was first known as Boomer. It was officially mapped out in 1866. The name changed to La Monte in 1870. This new name came from a friend of the person who ran the post office back then. The change happened when the railroad line was built through the area.
Geography of La Monte
La Monte is found on Missouri Route 127. It is just north of US Route 50. The city is about eleven miles northwest of Sedalia. Another town, Knob Noster, is six miles to the west. It is in the nearby Johnson County.
The United States Census Bureau says that La Monte covers a total area of about 1.14 square miles (2.95 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a tiny part, about 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometers), is water.
