Lake Linden is a small village located in Houghton County, which is in the state of Michigan in the United States. In 2020, about 1,020 people lived there. Most of the village is in Schoolcraft Township, but a small part is in Torch Lake Township.

History of Lake Linden
Lake Linden got its name from an early settler who lived there. A big fire sadly destroyed most of the village in 1887.
For a few years, from 1904 to 1906, Lake Linden had its own minor league baseball team. They were called the Lake Linden Lakers. They played in leagues like the Class C level Northern-Copper Country League.
Lake Linden was also home to a very large factory. This factory processed copper ore for a company called the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. This important factory closed down in 1968.
In 2009, a special part of the village was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This area is now known as the Lake Linden Historic District.
Geography and Location
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village covers a total area of about 0.89 square miles (2.3 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 0.77 square miles (2.0 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.12 square miles (0.3 square kilometers), is water.

Population in 2010
In 2010, there were 1,007 people living in Lake Linden. These people lived in 481 homes, and 263 of these were families. The village had about 1308 people per square mile. There were 568 housing units in total.
Most of the people living in the village were White (97.4%). A smaller number were Native American (0.7%), Asian (0.2%), or from other backgrounds. About 0.8% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
About 24.5% of the homes had children under 18 living there. Many homes (36.8%) were married couples. Some homes (13.3%) had a female head of household without a husband. About 4.6% had a male head of household without a wife.
The average age of people in the village was 44.1 years old. About 21.4% of residents were under 18. About 23.4% were 65 years old or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (51.0%) and females (49.0%).

Lake Linden experiences a humid continental climate. This means it has big changes in temperature throughout the year. Summers are usually warm to hot, and sometimes humid. Winters are cold, and can sometimes be very cold.
