What's in a Name?

Lake Parker was named after Parker Streety. He was an early pioneer settler who helped establish the area.

How Water Flows Through Lake Parker

Lake Parker is a key part of the local water system. It receives water from several other lakes in Lakeland, including Lake Mirror and Lake Bonny.

Water from Lake Parker then flows out into Saddle Creek and the Peace River. This connection makes the lake very important for the environment and the flow of water in the region. Sometimes, special treatments are used to manage a plant called hydrilla in the lake.

Fun Things to Do at Lake Parker

Lake Parker is one of the most popular lakes in Lakeland for recreation. It's a great place for fishing and boating.

Fishing and Boating

There are three boat ramps around the lake, making it easy to launch your boat. You can also find two fishing piers where you can cast a line. The lake is well-stocked with popular fish like Largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie.

Parks and Trails

If you prefer to stay on land, there's a path around a part of the lake for walking or jogging. You'll also find a few parks located right on or near the lake. The Lake-to-Lake Trail starts here, offering a path that goes through downtown Lakeland all the way to Lake John.
