The Story of the Reventón
Lamborghini first showed the Reventón at a big car show in Frankfurt in 2007. Like many other powerful Lamborghini cars, the Reventón got its name from a brave fighting bull. The Reventón was built using parts from another famous Lamborghini, the Murciélago. It even shared the same strong engine as the Murciélago LP640.
Engine and How it Drives
The Reventón uses a powerful 6,496 cc (6.5 L; 396.4 cu in) Lamborghini V12 engine. This is the same type of engine found in the Murciélago LP640. It has a special six-speed automated manual gearbox. This means you can shift gears without a clutch pedal.
The Reventón sends its power to all four wheels. This is called all-wheel drive. It helps the car grip the road better, especially when going very fast.
How Fast Can It Go?
The Reventón's engine makes about 650 PS (641 hp; 478 kW) of power. This power helps it go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) (about 62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds! The car can reach a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph) (about 211 mph). That's super fast!
Reventón Roadster: The Convertible Version
Lamborghini also made a convertible version called the Reventón Roadster. They first showed it at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. This car lets you feel the wind in your hair as you drive. Lamborghini built 15 of these special Roadster cars.
The Reventón Roadster had an even more powerful engine. It used the engine from the Murciélago LP 670–4 SV. This engine had 30 more horsepower than the regular Reventón.
Even with more power, the Roadster's top speed was a bit lower at 205 mph (330 km/h). However, it could still go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in the same quick 3.4 seconds.
