History of Landisville
Landisville was named after a man named Charles K. Landis. He was a very important person in developing land in New Jersey. Charles Landis helped create other towns like Hammonton and Vineland.
He also played a part in starting smaller towns, including Landisville. Mr. Landis had a big plan for Landisville. He wanted it to become the main town, or "county seat," of a brand new county. This new county would have included land from nearby areas. However, the people living there did not like this idea. They even started calling him "King Landis" because of his big plans.
Schools in Landisville
Students in Landisville attend schools that are part of the Buena Regional School District. This public school district runs Buena Regional High School.
There used to be a private Catholic school in Landisville called Notre Dame Regional School. It had two campuses, one in Landisville and another in Newfield. This school closed down in 2012. At that time, about 270 students were attending. After it closed, many of its students moved to a new non-Catholic school called Edgarton Christian Academy in Newfield.
