Lane Cove West is a cool suburb in Sydney, Australia. It's on the Lower North Shore, about 9 kilometres north-west of the main city centre. It's part of the Municipality of Lane Cove, which is a local government area. Remember, Lane Cove West is its own special place, different from Lane Cove and Lane Cove North!

A Look Back: History of Lane Cove West

Long ago, the land in this area was mostly used for farming. A man named John Blackman owned much of it. In the mid-1950s, a big music company called Festival Mushroom Records had its main office and recording studios here. This is also when the Lane Cove West Public School was built.

Lane Cove West officially became its own separate suburb on September 6, 2002. Before that, it was part of Lane Cove.

This house is listed on the Register of the National Estate because of its historical value. In the early 1900s, it was even used as a private hospital for people needing mental health care.

Blackman Park is a great place for outdoor activities. It's right next to the Lane Cove River. This park used to be a small valley where landfill was placed.

Today, it has many fun things to do. You can play tennis at the Lane Cove West Tennis Club or cricket on the pitches. There are also bike tracks, a basketball court, and a skate park. If you love nature, you can explore the bush walking tracks.
