Langue is a town and a municipality in the Valle Department, Honduras. It is located close to the border with El Salvador. Langue is known for making hammocks. Many people in the town work as farmers or day laborers. You might also find Mormon missionaries and Peace Corps volunteers helping out in the area.
Life in Langue
Langue is a place where many people live in the surrounding villages. The total population of the municipality is over 25,000. A lot of cattle are raised in the flat areas of the town.
The main town has a market that grows much bigger on Sundays. This is when people from nearby villages come to sell their crops and other goods. Langue also has good transportation for the southern part of Honduras. Buses travel to many places like Amatillo, Nacaome, and the capital city, Tegucigalpa.
A technical school called "Instituto Tecnico John F. Kennedy" was built in Langue. The Peace Corps helped to build this school.
Environment Challenges
The town of Langue has faced some environmental problems. It has suffered from deforestation, which means many trees have been cut down. There have also been times of drought, which means not enough rain.
