Larry Donnell Drew (born April 2, 1958) is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He currently works as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
In 2018, Larry Drew was honored by being named to the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Larry Drew played college basketball for the Missouri Tigers. He was a point guard, which is a player who leads the team's offense and handles the ball.
Larry Drew's Professional Playing Career
Playing in the NBA (1980–1991)
Larry Drew was chosen by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the 1980 NBA draft. He was the 17th player picked overall. He played for 10 seasons in the NBA. During his career, he played for the Pistons, the Kansas City/Sacramento Kings, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
In total, Drew played in 714 NBA games. He scored 8,110 points during his time as a player. One of his best seasons was in 1982–83 when he played for the Kings. He averaged 20.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. On January 21, 1983, he scored his highest number of points in a single game, getting 33 points against the Houston Rockets.
Playing Overseas (1988–1989)
In 1988–89, Larry Drew also played basketball in Italy. He played for a team called Scavolini in the Italian League.

After his playing days, Larry Drew became a basketball coach. He started as an assistant coach for several NBA teams.

Head Coach of the Atlanta Hawks (2010–2013)
In 2010, Larry Drew became the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. He led the team for three seasons. After the 2012–13 season, his contract ended, and the Hawks hired a new coach.
Head Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks (2013–2014)
On May 31, 2013, the Milwaukee Bucks hired Larry Drew as their head coach. He coached the team for one season. On June 30, 2014, the Bucks decided to make a change and hired a different head coach.
Return to Assistant Coaching and Interim Head Coach (2014–2019)
On August 19, 2014, Larry Drew joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as an assistant coach. In 2016, while he was an assistant coach, the Cavaliers won their first-ever NBA Championship.
In March 2018, Drew became the interim head coach for the Cavaliers. This happened when the main coach, Tyronn Lue, took a break for health reasons. The Cavaliers played very well under Drew, winning 8 out of 9 games.
In October 2018, after Tyronn Lue was no longer the head coach, Larry Drew was named the acting head coach. He later became the permanent head coach for the rest of the 2018–19 season. After that season, Drew and the Cavaliers went their separate ways.
Current Role with the Los Angeles Clippers
Since November 16, 2020, Larry Drew has been an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers. He works under head coach Tyronn Lue, whom he also coached with in Cleveland.
Larry Drew's Family Life
Larry Drew is married to Sharon Drew. They have three children: Larry II, Landon, and Lindsey.
- His oldest son, Larry II, also played college basketball. He played for North Carolina and then UCLA. He later played in the NBA for the New Orleans Pelicans.
- His middle son, Landon, played for Cal State Northridge.
- His youngest son, Lindsey, played for Nevada.
