Larry Bruce Jones (born December 18, 1933 – died May 30, 2013) was an important figure in American football. He was both a player and a coach. He is best known for being the head coach at Florida State University from 1971 to 1973. During his time there, his teams won 15 games and lost 19.
Jones was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). He played as a linebacker and a center. After his playing days, he became a coach. He worked as an assistant coach at several universities. These included LSU, the University of South Carolina, the United States Military Academy, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Kansas. He passed away on May 30, 2013, at the age of 79.
