With this team, he appeared in many short online videos. Lateef started learning capoeira, a Brazilian martial art, when he was just 6 years old.
About Lateef Crowder
Lateef was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. When he was four years old, his family moved to San Jose, California. He learned a lot about Capoeira from his father and from gymnasts. His skills helped him become a top international competitor. He then joined the famous Zero Gravity Stunt Team.
Today, Lateef is not an active member of the team. He now focuses on his acting career. He has appeared in several movies, including The Protector (2005) with Tony Jaa. He also worked with Scott Adkins in Undisputed 3, where he played the character Adriago Silva.
Lateef's Career Highlights
Lateef Crowder is well known for his role in the movie Tom-Yum-Goong (also called The Protector). In this film, he used his amazing Capoeira skills in a fight scene against Tony Jaa. The scene was cut short because Lateef got an injury to his achilles tendon. Luckily, he recovered and later appeared in the martial arts movie Duel of Legends in 2007.
Because of his Capoeira skills and gymnastics, Lateef Crowder was chosen to play Eddy Gordo in the Tekken movie. He also appeared in Undisputed 3 with Scott Adkins and Mykel Jenkins. This movie was directed by Isaac Florentine. Lateef also starred in the short film Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, directed by Kevin Tancharoen.
Another cool project Lateef worked on was Fight Science. In this show, he demonstrated his Capoeira style. He performed tests to show how powerful and effective his kicks were.
Since 2019, Lateef has been a stunt double for Din Djarin / The Mandalorian in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. For his work on the show, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Stunt Performance in 2022. This award is a Primetime Emmy Creative Arts Award.
