Village Life and Services
Even though Law is a small village, it has many useful places. Most of these can be found on Station Road. This is the main street in the village.
Community and Education
You can find Law Parish Church on Station Road. It's part of the Church of Scotland. The church helps people in the area. It also hosts groups like the Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade. These groups are for young people of all ages.
Law Primary School has about 240 students. After primary school, older students go to Carluke High School. This high school is about 4 kilometers away.
Transport Connections
The West Coast Main Line is a big railway line. It runs along the north-eastern edge of Law. There used to be a train station called Law Junction railway station. It closed in 1965.
There's talk about reopening the station. This is because many new homes might be built where the old Law Hospital used to be. If the station reopens, it would be easier to travel by train. Cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh would be easy to reach from Law.
Healthcare Facilities
Law Hospital was just outside Law Village. It closed in 2001. Patients then went to Wishaw General Hospital. This hospital is in the Craigneuk area of Wishaw.
An ambulance station used to be at Law Hospital. Since 2001, the Scottish Ambulance Service has a new one. It's on Wildman Road, which is the road into the village from Wishaw.
Law Community Football Club
Law Community AFC is the village's local amateur football team. It was started in 2011. They play their home games at Law Football Parks. The team is currently in the Premier Division. Their home kit is red, and their away kit is blue. Local businesses like Tandoori Palace and Scotmid support them.
The team has won some awards:
- Strathclyde Evangelical Churches League Division 3 Winners - 2013/14
- Strathclyde Evangelical Churches League Division 2 Athol Cup Winners - 2014/15
