History of Lebanon
Lebanon was settled in the late 1800s. It was part of the Chickasaw Nation, a Native American tribe. At that time, it was located in an area called Pickens County.
A courthouse for the Chickasaw Tribe was once located in Lebanon. Also, about a mile east of Hauani Creek, you can still find the remains of the Burney School. This was a tribal school run by the Chickasaw people.
Geography and Location
Lebanon is located in a scenic area of Oklahoma. It sits on the western edge of Lake Texoma. This large lake is where the Red River and Hauani Creek flow into it.
