Sir David Lee Pearson (born 4 February 1974) is an amazing British para-equestrian rider. He has won 14 gold medals at the Paralympic Games. He has competed in many Paralympics, including Sydney, Athens, Beijing, London, Rio, and Tokyo.
Lee Pearson is known as the "Godfather" of para-dressage. This means he is a very important and respected figure in the sport. Throughout his career, he has won over 30 gold medals. These wins are from European, World, and Paralympic competitions.

About Lee Pearson
Lee Pearson was born in Cheddleton, England. He was born with a condition that affects his joints. When he was young, in 1980, he received a "Children of Courage" medal. The British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, even carried him up the stairs at 10 Downing Street.
Lee was inspired by the Atlanta Olympics to become a professional rider. He then started his incredible journey in para-equestrianism.
Paralympic Achievements
Lee Pearson has won many medals at the Paralympics. He won three gold medals at the Sydney, Athens, and Beijing Games. These wins were in championship dressage, freestyle dressage, and team dressage events.
At the London Games, he won a gold medal with his horse, Gentleman. This was for the team dressage event. He also earned a silver medal in championship dressage and a bronze in freestyle. Even when he didn't win gold in freestyle, he was determined to keep competing.
He went on to compete at the Rio Games with a different horse named Zion. Later, at the Tokyo Games, he and his horse Breezer won three more gold medals.

Awards and Recognition
Lee Pearson has received many special awards for his achievements. In July 2005, he was given an honorary Doctorate from Staffordshire University. This is a special degree that recognizes his contributions.
He has also received several honors from the British Crown:
- In 2001, he became a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
- In 2005, he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
- In 2009, he became a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
- In 2017, he was made a Knight. This means he can use the title "Sir" before his name. These honors are for his great work in equestrianism and disabled sports.
Lee's Life Outside of Sport
Lee Pearson manages his own dressage stable in Staffordshire, England. He also teaches many people about horse riding across the country. In 2020, he became a single foster parent to a 15-year-old foster son.
