Lee Soo-young (Hangul: 이수영; born Lee Ji-yeon, Hangul: 이지연 on April 12, 1979) is a famous South Korean ballad singer. She is known for her beautiful and emotional songs. She started her music career in 1999 with her first album, I Believe. People quickly loved her strong singing voice and talent.
In the mid-2000s, Lee Soo-young was one of the most popular singers in South Korea. She sold many albums, even when the music industry was facing tough times. For example, in 2004, she sold over 700,000 albums!

Music Career
Lee Soo-young has had a very successful career in music. In 2001, she sang the official Korean version of a song from the popular video game Final Fantasy X. The song was called “얼마나 좋을까” (“Eolmana Joheulkka”).
Her seventh album, Grace, came out on January 21, 2006. This album was very popular and quickly reached the top of the music charts. Because it was so loved, a special limited edition of Grace was released. Only 30,000 copies of this special edition were made.
Lee Soo-young has also written her own songs. One of her songs, "Lavender," was performed at the weddings of her close friends. These friends include Park Kyung-lim, Kim Yoo-mi, and Seo Min-jung.
Personal Life
Lee Soo-young got married in October 2010. She married her boyfriend after they had been together for about a year. They have one son, who was born in July 2011.
