Left Behind (series) facts for kids

The Left Behind series is a popular set of fictional books created by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. This series tells an exciting story about what happens on Earth during and after an event called the "Rapture." In the books, the Rapture is when many people suddenly disappear from Earth, believed to have gone to heaven.

Besides the main book series, there are also graphic novels (like comic books), CDs with the story, and a special series called Left Behind: The Kids which is written especially for younger readers.

The Books in the Series

The Left Behind series has many books that tell a long, exciting story. The first three books were actually written later, but they tell what happened before the main story began. These are called prequels.

1. The Rising: This book tells the story of the Antichrist's birth before the Rapture.
2. The Regime: This book shows how evil starts to grow in the world before the main events.
3. The Rapture: This book describes the moment when many people disappear from Earth.

Main Characters

The series follows a group of people who are left behind after the Rapture. They form a group called the "Tribulation Force" and try to survive and fight against the Antichrist.

• Rayford Steele - He is a pilot for an airline called Pan-Continental. He is in his mid-forties and becomes a key leader.
• Chloe Steele Williams - She is Rayford's daughter and later marries "Buck." She is smart and helps the group.
• Cameron "Buck" Williams - He is a Journalist for a magazine called Global Weekly. He is brave and helps share important information.
• Bruce Barnes - He was an assistant pastor at New Hope Village Church. He helps explain what is happening in the world.
• Nicolae Jetty Carpathia - He is a man from Romania who becomes the main villain, known as the Antichrist.

The Movies

Some of the Left Behind books have also been made into movies. The first few movies starred actor Kirk Cameron.
