Leonardo Antonio Aguilar Álvarez Alcalá (born August 15, 1999), known simply as Leonardo Aguilar, is a talented singer from Mexico. He is part of a famous musical family. By 2017, Leonardo was nominated for two important music awards called the Latin Grammy Awards.

Leonardo Aguilar's Early Life
Leonardo Aguilar was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 15, 1999. His parents are Pepe Aguilar and Aneliz Álvarez Alcalá.
Leonardo has dual citizenship. This means he is a citizen of both Mexico and the United States. He got his U.S. citizenship because his father was born in San Antonio, Texas. Leonardo grew up in a family famous for music. They are known as "La Dinastía Aguilar," which means "The Aguilar Dynasty." His father, Pepe Aguilar, is a well-known Mexican singer. His grandparents, Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre, were also famous Mexican singers and actors. From a young age, Leonardo often traveled with his father on music tours. His younger sister, Ángela Aguilar, is also a singer and performs with them.
His Music Career
Leonardo Aguilar started his music journey at a young age. In 2012, when he was just twelve years old, he released his first album. It was called Nueva Tradición (New Tradition). He made this album with his sister, Ángela Aguilar. The album had four songs sung by Leonardo and four by Ángela.
First Solo Album and Awards
On December 2, 2016, Leonardo released his first album by himself. It was named Gallo Fino (Fine Rooster). His father, Pepe Aguilar, helped produce this album. Leonardo also worked with other famous Mexican artists. These included Espinoza Paz and El Chapo de Sinaloa.
Gallo Fino was a very successful album. It was nominated for "Best Norteño Album" at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2017. The Latin Grammy Awards celebrate outstanding music in Latin America. Also, one of his songs from the album, "Compromiso Descartado," was nominated for "Best Regional Mexican Song."
