Les Bayards was once a small town or municipality in Switzerland. It was located in the Val-de-Travers area, which is part of the canton of Neuchâtel. A canton is like a state or province in other countries.
On January 1, 2009, Les Bayards joined with several other nearby towns. These towns were Boveresse, Buttes, Couvet, Fleurier, Môtiers, Noiraigue, Saint-Sulpice, and Travers. They all merged together to create a new, larger municipality called Val-de-Travers. This means Les Bayards is no longer a separate town on its own, but part of a bigger community.
