Acting Career Highlights

Playing Stanley Hudson in The Office
One day, Baker had two auditions scheduled. On his way to the audition for The Office, he got stuck in traffic. When he finally arrived, he was a bit tired and grumpy. The people casting the show thought this mood was perfect for the character of Stanley Hudson. Two weeks later, he got the part!
Stanley Hudson is a sales representative at the fictional Dunder Mifflin paper company. He is often shown as a quiet, sometimes grumpy, but funny character. Many fans loved his calm way of speaking and how he reacted to the other characters. Some of his scenes became very popular with viewers. Even though Stanley is usually serious, he sometimes shows a softer, funnier side. By the end of the series, Stanley was happy to retire and live in Florida.
Baker and the rest of The Office cast won Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2007 and 2008. These awards are given for outstanding performances by a group of actors in a comedy series.
After The Office ended in 2013, Baker thought about a spin-off show called Uncle Stan. This show would follow Stanley as he moves to Los Angeles to help his nephew. Baker started a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the show. Many fans donated, raising over $300,000. However, due to delays from COVID-19 and Hollywood strikes, the project was put on hold. The money raised was later refunded to the donors.
Other Acting Roles
In 2001, Baker appeared in an episode of That '70s Show as a janitor. In 2011, he released a song called "2 Be Simple" with a music video. The song was described as a fun party anthem.
Baker has also appeared in other TV shows like Raven's Home, Scorpion, and Life in Pieces. He had voice roles in the animated films Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie and Vivo. He also voiced a character in the dark comedy series Fired on Mars.
You might have seen him in commercials too! In 2018, he was in an advertisement for FileMaker Inc. with other actors from The Office. In 2020, he starred in a series of commercials for Honey Nut Cheerios.
