Letícia Bufoni e Silva, born on April 13, 1993, is an amazing professional skateboarder. She is from Brazil and also an American citizen. Letícia is famous for her street skateboarding skills. She has won many gold medals at the X Games, which are big competitions for action sports.

Early Life and Skateboarding Start

Letícia Bufoni was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She started skateboarding when she was just nine years old. Her grandmother bought her first skateboard when she was 11.

Letícia grew up playing sports outside all the time. She said that all the kids in her neighborhood started skating, so she did too. At first, her dad was not happy about her skateboarding. She was the only girl skating with many boys. He even broke her skateboard once! But he eventually changed his mind and let her keep skating.

When she was 14, Letícia moved to the United States with some older friends. She went to Hollywood High School for a while. However, she missed a lot of school because of her skateboarding.

A Professional Skateboarding Career

In 2007, when she was 14, Letícia competed in her first X Games in Los Angeles. She quickly became one of the best skateboarders in the world. She has won six X Games gold medals in total. She even tied a record for the most gold medals in Women's Street Skateboarding.

Letícia is known as one of the most important athletes in action sports. The World Cup of Skateboarding ranked her as the number one women's street skateboarder for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. She is even in Guinness World Records for having the "Most Wins Of The World Cup of Skateboarding". In 2013, she was nominated for an ESPY Award for Best Female Action Sports Athlete.

In 2018, Forbes magazine named Letícia one of the most powerful women in international sports. She was also on Sports Pro Media's list of the world's most marketable athletes. Forbes Brazil also included her on their "Under 30" list.

Letícia Bufoni is also the official athlete representative for World Skate. This group is recognized by the International Olympic Committee for skateboarding.

In 2022, Letícia Bufoni set an amazing world record. She performed the highest skateboard grind ever done outside a flying aircraft! This record was confirmed by Guinness World Records. She did this incredible trick while a C-130 transport plane was flying over Merced, California. The plane was 9,022 feet (about 2,750 meters) high when she did the grind. A video of this went viral in 2023.

Racing Adventures

Letícia has always loved racing. When she was young, she raced go-karts near a skate park in Brazil. She stopped racing to focus on skateboarding when she moved to America. But she still enjoys supercar racing sometimes. In 2020, she even built her own drift car.

In 2022, Letícia started racing in Nitro Rallycross's side-by-side class. She did well even without much practice. She finished seventh and sixth in her first weekend. She raced the full 2023–24 Nitrocross SxS season and finished fifth in points.

In October 2023, Bufoni also tried desert racing at the NORRA 500. She shared a modified Nissan Frontier truck with another driver, Chris Forsberg. They won their class, which was called Stock Production.
