Lexie Liu, whose real name is Liu Boxin, is a cool singer, rapper, and songwriter from China. She was born on December 21, 1998. Lexie became well-known after joining TV music competitions. In 2015, she was part of K-pop Star 5 in South Korea. Later, in 2018, she competed in The Rap of China and finished fourth, which really kickstarted her solo music career.
In 2019, Lexie released her first EP, called 2030. She also lent her voice to the character Seraphine in the popular K/DA song "More". She has released more music since then, including the album Meta Ego in 2019, the EP Gone Gold in 2021, and the album The Happy Star in 2022.

Early Life and Music Journey
Lexie Liu grew up in Changsha, Hunan, China. She loved music from a very young age. She started dancing when she was four and learned to play the piano at six.
When she was in high school, Lexie took a year off to focus on making music. During this time, she went to Korea. She joined the TV show K-pop Star 5 using her birth name, Liu Yuyu. She was part of a four-person girl group called "Mazinga S," and they came in fourth place.
Lexie was accepted to Fordham University to study business. But she decided to leave college to follow her dream of becoming a full-time musician.
Music Career Highlights
Starting Out (2016–2021)
In January 2017, Lexie released her first original song, "Coco Made Me Do It." It quickly got over 5 million views! In February 2017, she performed at the SXSW music festival in the US. This was a big step in sharing Chinese pop music with a global audience.
In 2018, Lexie wrote a song called "Role" for a famous Chinese idol, Li Yifeng. In July 2018, she joined The Rap of China. She made it to the final round with her song "Mulan" and finished in fourth place. While on the show, Lexie signed with an American music company called 88rising.
Later that year, she released "Sleep Away," a song from her upcoming EP 2030. Music magazines like The Fader and Nylon praised the song. In December 2018, Lexie released "Nada," a cool song with a futuristic music video. The Line of Best Fit described "Nada" as a mix of Mandopop and strong beats. The song was also featured on Apple Music's "Best Of the Week."
In February 2019, Lexie's debut EP 2030 came out in the United States. It included new songs like "Outta Time" with rapper Killy. In September 2019, she released the single "Ok, Ok, Ok." Her album Meta Ego was released on December 27, 2019.
A big moment came on October 28, 2020. Lexie voiced the character Seraphine in Riot Games' virtual K-pop group, K/DA. She sang on their hit song "More" from their EP All Out. Lexie even performed this song live at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship in Shanghai.
On January 28, 2021, Lexie released her second EP, Gone Gold. She wrote and produced this EP herself. The music had more electro-pop sounds. The project's theme was about living life like a character in an online game. Lexie was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She felt like her only way to understand the world was through a screen. This made her imagine what life would be like without it.
New Music and The Happy Star (2021-Present)
On November 21, 2022, Lexie released a new song called "Fortuna." It was a high-energy, electropop track. The song used Mandarin, English, and Spanish lyrics. "Fortuna" and its music video were inspired by Egyptian mythology and tarot readings. It was named after the Roman goddess Fortuna. It also mentioned Egyptian gods like Set and Anubis.
On November 29, 2022, Lexie released another song called "Magician." This song also drew inspiration from tarot divination. Its lyrics mentioned different major arcana cards like the Magician, the Moon, and the Sun. "Magician" continued to explore heavy electronic music and was sung in English and Mandarin.
Lexie released her full album, The Happy Star, on December 6, 2022. It had twelve songs, including "Fortuna" and "Magician."
More recently, on November 21, 2023, Lexie released the single "delulu." On April 23, 2024, she was featured in the song "On Clap" on Yuqi's EP Yuq1.
